January 2025 issue of Sonoma magazine: Wet redwoods and rain-kissed ceramics

I have two articles in the January 2025 issue of Sonoma magazine: a Nature Almanac piece on redwoods in the rainy season (always a joy to write these) and a profile of Sonoma-based ceramic artist Kala Stein. The latter was my first proper profile in a long time, and first time writing about a visual artist ever -- though as Arts Editor at the East Bay Express way back when, I used to edit art reviews and profiles weekly. It was fun to draw on this distant experience, still stored away in my brain, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
