New in EHP: Extreme Heat at Night Contributes to Heat Wave Mortality
It is well understood that heat can be deadly, and that climate change is bringing hotter days and higher average temperatures around the globe. What is less widely known is that overnight low temperatures are rising even more rapidly than daytime highs—and some of heat’s toll on human health can be attributed to those hotter nights, according to the authors of a study recently published in Environmental Health Perspectives.
